Posted from No 8 Operational Training Unit. Served in Europe then Middle East with No 145 Squadron, November 1941 to August 1942 before being posted to No 33 Squadron July 1942 to May 1943 and No 601 Squadron May - October 1943. Then returned to Australia.

Second tour of operations with No 457 Squadron posted to No 2 PD.

Two confirmed victories with No 33 Squadron one being shared, North Africa 1943, and No 457 Squadron, South West Pacific, 1945.

Last A Flight Commander replacing W.O. (Bill) Cable from 23rd July 1945 onwards.

Discharged January 1946 as a Flight Lieutenant from 427 Squadron.
