He was born 27^th December 1908 and enlisted 7^th February 1941 and as he was a trained fabric worker he was mustered as a parachute packer.  He was posted to 452 squadron, Darwin 1943-44.  His skills undoubtedly saved the lives of pilots who "hit the silk" over the north west of Australia.  He was discharged 16^th November 1945 from No 3 reserve personnel pool.
