Enlisted: 3rd February, 1941. Discharged: 8th August, 1946.
Fred flew Spitfires with 457 Squadron in the UK and Darwin, finishing the War as a test pilot at Richmond. Fred was a carpenter prior to joining up in 1941 and returned to the building trade following his return to civvy street and his marriage to Alma in 1946.
He was later to create one of the largest BMC dealerships in this country. Fred and Alma had four children.
He died late 1991 in his 75th year.
